Splore

Splore has been engaging and inspiring its audience with ground breaking music, art and performance since 1998. It has developed from an underground outdoor dance party into a full spectrum, multidisciplinary festival showcasing the latest from the contemporary arts, including an extensive visual art trail with site specific and interactive works.

Its multidisciplinary content of art, performance and music creates an element of surprise like no other festival. Every nook and cranny is filled with colourful details, whether it’s an artwork appearing as you round a corner or chancing upon an out and about performance of the fruitiest nature.

The festival is tucked away in what has to be the most sublime festival location in the world, an Auckland regional park right on the beach on the Firth of Thames. People can listen and watch their favourite band or DJ while dancing in the warm ocean. The beach is fringed by ancient Pohutukawa, draping their limbs into the ocean and people can swim all day under the hot February sunshine.
