Jamie White

Jamie is one of the Auckland Dance Scenes young rising stars, playing a mixture of electronica, his techy underground tunes always have dancefloors moving.

He has played at some of the biggest events in New Zealand, including Summadayze, Chemistry, Big Clubbers Night Out, We Love Sounds, Slinky & many more, which has seen him on lineups with some of the world’s top international acts, including Nic Fanciulli, Sebastien Leger, Carl Cox, Sharam and Above & Beyond. A couple favourites would have to be supporting Infusion Live, early February 2010 in Melbourne and more recently supporting Fergie at Be Club April.

Jamie has always had a passion for music, being involved with singing groups up until the age of 12, he spent a lot of time in recording studios & performed live at some of New Zealand’s biggest events including Christmas in the Park, also live performances and adverts on TV3.

Since then, Jamie’s early musical experience has evolved, finding a love DJing in early 2006 he purchased his 1st set of Turntables, over the last 4 years Jamie’s style has developed into a unique blend of Underground House & Techno, he still continues to investigate new styles and techniques.

Jamie also established the promotions company with friend and DJ Joe Johnson early 2008 - Neat Events , catering for all styles of house music, with the main goal of always trying to offer something a little different at Neat parties. Neat Events currently runs FLOORPLAY, BALANCE and CHARITY.

2009 Jamie headed back to the studio to make his own mark with production, working hard and spending countless hours crafting up some of his own dancefloor hits. His hard work has started to pay off, recent EP 'Native Origin' scheduled for release on BeatGeek May 2010 has had a lot of good reviews worldwide, which is great for such a young musician.

Having recently acquired a monthly residency January 2010 at local Auckland lounge bar ‘Red’ along side Tom McGuinness. He is looking towards the long term, giving him an opportunity for fans to catch him in an intimate setting, and generally hear a selection of music that you wouldn’t normally get in a pumping club environment, 'Murmur' which takes place on the last Saturday of every month, focuses more on the groove and house side of the underground, slower and more sensual, perfect for a quiet drink before heading out for the night!.

Late Thursday nights you will find Jamie and Tom McGuinness on the airwaves, the show ‘Murmur’ (named after their monthly residency) takes place from midnight Thursdays on New Zealands George FM, giving them two hours with which to showcase a blend of original, classic and cutting edge material. This is the show to wet the electronic appetite. Featuring weekly special guests and many a prize to be picked up, the show is always a hit with traditional listeners, and those tuned in over the web.

No matter the place or the time you can expect Jamie to deliver nothing but the best underground beats, whether it is a warm-up set or a late 4am banger, he has the tunes and always the passion behind the decks to keep the dancefloor on their toes.
