Three mothers caught breastfeeding at the wheel

Three mothers have been caught breastfeeding at the wheel on Auckland's motorways by police. All three women were stopped during a recent 10-day police operation.

Shannon Gray who is Auckland's Motorways manager said police officers were shocked to find infants being breastfed while their mothers were at the wheel.

"It puts everyone in an extremely dangerous situation," says Gray. "If they had to stop their vehicle suddenly, or they were involved in a serious crash, the infant would surely be ejected from the vehicle."

Police were also stunned to find a number of Children in foot wells or the back boot of vehicles.
