"Happy music is easy to consume, you can just put yourself in the music and see what happens. It's passive, you don't have to do anything for it. With techno, it is not only dark but also very subtle and intense. It can make you lose your mind, make you freak totally out." - Marcel Dettmann

Having always had a passion for music in many forms, Tom stumbled across the world of electronic music at a fairly young age. From there his interest quickly turning to passion as he delved into the world of Production, DJ’ing and Promoting. In 2010, he can be heard playing a varying array of music from blissed out electronica and progressive to gnarly techno and everything in between.

Having played some of New Zealand’s largest events, including We Love Sounds, Summadayze, Chemistry, Big Clubbers Night Out, Slinky & many more, the two have found themselves on line-ups definitely worth talking about, acts such as Nic Fanciulli, Sebastien Leger, Eddie Halliwell, Laidback Luke, John Askew, Carl Cox, supporting Australian Live Act Infusion, early 2010 in Melbourne and more recently warming up for Fergie at Be Club April 2010.

Having studied Audio Engineering & Music Production at University, 2010 is set to be big for Tom, with many big projects underway and hours of studio time to clock up!

On the DJ circuit, Tom is known for his eclectic and always slightly left field tune selection and sets, and for his lively and fun-filled antics behind the decks that constantly step it up and keep the dance-floor interesting. Tom is also known for his highly acclaimed and popular mix compilations. More than just a regular DJ mix, Tom focuses on keeping things intriguing and different for the listener, while blending, layering and editing a vast array of music.

Having recently acquired a monthly residency at local Auckland lounge bar ‘Red’ alongside fellow DJ and production partner Jamie White, Tom has been able to give people the opportunity to hear a much more intimate side of the music he plays, allowing him to play much less club orientated music. This night focuses more on the groove and house side of the underground, slower and more sensual, perfect for a quiet drink before heading out for the night!

Late Thursday nights you will find both Jamie and Tom on the airwaves with their radio show ‘Murmur’ (which is named after their monthly residency) on New Zealand’s George FM, giving them two hours to showcase a blend of original, classic and cutting edge material. This is the show to wet the electronic progressive tech appetite. Set your late Thursday night mojo in motion! Featuring weekly special guests and many a prize to be picked up, the show is always a hit with traditional listeners, and those tuned in over the web.

With a number of big events and projects set to be unleashed this year, 2010 is set to be an exciting and busy one for Tom, who looks forward to it!
