Kim Crawford's Fashion Design Challenge
Win a year's supply of wine!
Over the next 4 weeks, 6 teams of budding designers from Whitecliffe College of Art & Design will take up the tough challenge of creating a piece of high end fashion in time to be revealed at Fashion Week.
Mentored by Internationally renowned Kiwi designer Adrian Hailwood, the students have a unique challenge - to take their inspiration from one of six Kim Crawford wine varietals and produce something quite out of the ordinary. Each brief has its own little twist to accurately reflect the varietal of wine it’s based on.
Having mixed the teams up, they are out of their comfort zone with clashing styles and personalities. Adding to the stress is Adrian’s insistence that they have to produce something unique but it must be commercially viable.
Over the next few weeks you can watch the journey online. By voting online for your favourite team below gives you a chance to win one of 5 x VIP packages including tickets to Adrian Hailwood's amazing show. A year supply of Kim Crawford's wine is also up for grabs which will be drawn on the 31st of August on George FM's breakfast show.
Adrian Hailwood says: "This is the real deal. These guys have got to design something which is out of the ordinary but have sales appeal – all in a short timeframe. There are no gimmicks, just their talent, wits and $250 of material from Global Fabrics. They’ll find out just how hard it is out there in the real world as they are judged by the general public, who can be harsh critics".
Nina Stojnic from Kim Crawford adds: “Kim Crawford has been a long supporter of Fashion and emerging talent, and we are now encouraging the Whitecliffe students to step outside their comfort zone - all of whom are challenged to undo the ordinary.”
The winning team receives hands on mentoring with Adrian to help them take the next step up into the fashion world.
