Say ka kite to screenshotting your exes Instagram stories, they'll now get a notification every time you do it
After much speculation Instagram has finally done what they've been threatening for months - rolling out notifications when you screenshot someone's story.
TechCrunch reports the new security feature will put a star-shaped icon next to the name of the person who has taken a screenshot in the Story Views section of the app, similar to when someone screenshots a Snapchat story.
"Next time you take a screenshot or screen recording, the person who posted the story will be able to see it," reads the new warning on your phone. The warning reportedly shows the first time you attempt to screenshot, meaning you may be spared initial embarrassment. Just don't forget after that first time.
However Indian Express reports there is a cheeky work-around; you can avoid the notification being sent if you screenshot in flight mode.
Instagram introduced a similar feature in November 2016, which alerts the user when someone takes a screenshot of their Direct Messages.
Separately, Instagram is testing a new 'Regram' feature as well, TechCrunch reports. It will let users share public feed posts from other users to their Story. Instagram said in a statement, "we're always testing ways to make it easier to share any moment with friends on Instagram". It looks like the feature is currently available to a small number of users with a wider rollout expected soon.
