Hot Pie from Game of Thrones just opened a bakery in real life
*IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN S7.EP2, SPOILERS AHEAD*
First off, if you've watched the latest episode of Game of Thrones you might be wondering "who the fuck is Hot Pie!?"
You know, the dude who fed Arya some Direwolf loaf, gave her some advice on browning her butter and then told her "Yo. Ramsay got savaged by a bunch of dogs, and your fave bro Jon Snow's come home to Winterfell and is King and shit," (or something like that)?
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, I watched the episode, but who is Hot Pie in context to the show again?"
It can be a little tricky keeping track of the millions of characters. Especially the ones you haven't seen in four seasons.
So, back in season 2, when Arya was on the run, pretending to be a boy called "Arry" and she became best friends with Gendry, AKA. Robert Baratheon's last, real bastard son, AKA. Chris from Skins (RIP) - Hot Pie was perpetually tagging along, talking about the real important stuff in life; hot pies and Direwolf loaves.
And NOW the actor, Ben Hawkey has opened his own bakery in the UK, called, get this... "You Know Nothing Jon Dough."
With a nose for marketing, Hawkey launched his baking venture through the UK delivery service Deliveroo, the same weekend as the Game of Thrones season premiere.
And yes, he's baking legit Direwolf loaves.
Hawkey has said “Hot Pie’s Direwolf loaves are a favorite for Game of Thrones fans, and people are always asking me for the secret of my recipe. I can’t share that, but Deliveroo customers will have the chance to try them themselves. You don’t even need to take a dangerous walk down the King’s Road to visit, it comes to you.”
He needs to package those Direwolf loaves up and get his export game going, cause I know a few GOT nerds on this side of the world who would eat that shit up...
