Police had to hold back rioting Rick & Morty fans when Macca's didn't have enough Szechuan sauce

After a huge amount of hype blew up around McDonald's bringing back the now iconic Szechaun sauce for one day only (October 7th), the Golden Arches cooked it big time... well, at least in the eyes of a crazed Rick & Morty fanbase.

This is largely due to two factors:
1. A limited number of sauces and 2. an under estimation of demand. Turning an innocent promo into an all out riot or Rick & Morty fans desperate to finish their story arcs.

Footage has appeared on social media with huge crowds chanting "We Want Sauce" after thousands camped for hours outside McDonald's doors, only to find the restaurants had as little as 70 sauces each when they opened.

Which in some places caused an all out riot with police having to force fans back. Another fan scored one and managed to hoff it off immediately for $175 and sauces have appeared on eBay since selling for extortionate amounts.

It does seem a little strange that McDonald's bought the sauce back - originally released in 1993 as a gimic around the movie Mulan - after months of campaigning by overzealous Rick & Morty fans (Deadmau5 blew $15,000 on an eBay listing of Szechuan in August, ON HIS WEDDING DAY) they only stock 70 packets? One person could have bought that many...

McDonald's have come out and apologised, and are now promising to bring back MORE Szechuan sauce - but is this just one huge, genius marketing ploy on McDonald's side?

Are they intentionally trying to make Rick & Morty fans wait nine seasons to create more hype and more money? Likely.

But the people want that Mulan McNugget Sauce. THEY WANT THE MCNUGGET DIPPING, SAUCE SZECHUAN SAUCE! TH-THAT’S WHAT'S GONNA TAKE US, ALL THE WAY TO THE END MORTY! SEASON, 9 MORE SEASONS MORTY! 9 MORE SEASONS UNTIL WE GET THAT DIPPING SZECHUAN SAUCE!
