This hero convinced German TV he’s Ryan Gosling
Everyone loves to be compared to celebrities. And people love comparing you to them.
Get a fringe and suddenly your Zooey Deschanel. Grow a beard and your Ragnar Lothbrok. Let yourself go a little, and your Zach Galifianakis.
The thing is, most of us don’t read into the flattery too much.
Enter Ludwig Lehner.
Some celebrity-comparison enthusiasts might say Ludwig looks like Ryan Gosling's fatter, older, seedier brother… but there’s no way he could legitimately be mistaken as the real deal.
Ludwig somehow managed to convince the German equivalent of the BAFTAs – The “Goldene Kameras” – that he was the Hollywood star. Then he got on stage to accept an award for Gosling’s role in La La Land.
With Hollywood stars like Nicole Kidman and Colin Farrell watching on in shock, the imposter got on stage to deliver an acceptance speech in a thick German accent:
"I am Ryan Gosling, I dedicate this award to Joko and Klass, thank you very much,"
"There is a saying in Hamburg which is bye bye."
Not all heroes wear capes.
