Murray Cammick is an integral part of New Zealand's pop culture history: from early editor of
Rip It Up music magazine, to owner-operator of Wildside/Felix records (the pioneering independent label releasing proto-house and our first hip-hop from the Upper Hutt Posse), having now evolved into New Zealand's premiere indie local rock imprint.
Murray has always been a firm believer in Black music, beginning his weekly Land of the Good Groove show on student station bFM in the very early 80s to champion the exciting sound of soul, funk and early hip hop at a time when rock n roll dominated the radio spectrum.
Land of the Good Groove proved to be a hugely influential phenomena, exposing unheard genres of music said to be formative in the creation & development of Maifm + providing an essential schooling to many of todays dance music producers & players .
Experience an education every Tuesday from 2:00-4pm with Murray Cammick & Soul Finger.
