Here's some sh*tty news for your Monday...
According to a new study, watches are on average three times dirtier than toilet seats.
Tic Watches swabbed 10 different kinds of watches to test for bacteria, yeast and mould, with a fitness watch faring the worst - eight times dirtier than a toilet seat. Those with leather watches are in luck, as it was found to be the cleanest.
As part of the research conducted, Tic Watches found that 24 per cent of participants admitted to never cleaning their watch.
Managing Director of Tic Watches Daniel Richmond
advised people to clean their watch at least once a month.
"Whether you wear a watch every day, or just during working hours, one thing is for certain, we don't clean them as much as we wash our hands," he said. "Unfortunately, not all watches are waterproof, so avoiding any contact with water when we're wearing them could be the main reason for a build-up of bacteria."
Tic also shared a comprehensive guide to cleaning your watch, which can be found here in case you don't want to feel like you have a toilet seat around your wrist.
