New Zealand's homegirl Jacinda Ardern poses for Vogue magazine

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has appeared in a photoshoot for iconic fashion and beauty magazine Vogue.

The full shoot will be in the March edition of the magazine, but a preview image shows her standing at one end of Bethells Beach, on Auckland's west coast.

The magazine has previously featured former US First Ladies Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, and Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In the accompanying article, Ms Ardern is referred to as "the anti-Trump" - presumably a retort to a Wall Street Jou feature that compared her immigration policies to that of the US President.

The Vogue article also described her as "young, forward-looking, and unabashedly liberal".

Ms Ardern has also appeared in New Zealand's Next magazine in the past.
