An elderly man has led police on a ricidulous chase around the streets of Timaru on a mobility scooter.
The man was filmed attempting to flee police in a low speed chase that left onlookers in disbelief.
The video shows the man's frantic escape efforts.
"He's going for it!", the woman behind the camera can be heard saying while capturing the ordeal from her car.
"What is the old man up to?" she says as the old boy weaves through traffic.
The video ends with officers following the scooter down a driveway, on foot.
