The man, the myth, the legend.

A Morrinsville woman has been making the rounds on the internet after getting some new ink depicting NZ's Director-General of Health and local legend Dr Ashley Bloomfield on her leg.

The woman, known only as Sherilyn, has inked her calf with a large portrait of the man himself, with the tattoo also featuring the Beehive, and Anzac poppy and the statue of former Prime Minister Richard Seddon.

Tattoo artist Dave Mouat says the whole process took around four hours.

"I just had a look through [photos of Bloomfield] and liked the one with the hair flowing in the wind. It's great, very stately," he told NZME.

Check out the tattoo above - one that Dave describes as 'one of the most memorable tattoos' he's ever done!
