The movie sequel to one of our all time fave series 'Breaking Bad' is due out in just a few short weeks.
'El Camino' will hit Netflix on October 11th, and showrunner Vince Gilligan has now revealed it will feature at least 10 returning characters from the series. F**k yeah.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gilligan said:
"El Camino centres on what happens to Jesse after he drives out of that compound covered in physical and psychological scars, and it features more than 10 familiar characters from the show."
Ok, so obviously old mate Walter isn't going to make it into the movie, unless it's a flashback - the movie will pick up just after his death.
We can be sure Aaron Paul's character Jesse Pinkman will star heavily in the movie. He said in an interview that he had his doubts about returning to the role, but said that his showrunner convinced him to play Pinkman again.
"I really loved Jesse. I knew him better than anyone, but it was a big weight off of my shoulders to hang up the cleats and walk away. I thought it was goodbye, and I was OK with that," Paul said.
"I'm like everybody else on the planet - I think Vince and the rest of the writers really nailed the landing with the ending of Breaking Bad, and why mess with that?"
"But it's Vince we're talking about. I would follow Vince into a fire. That's how much I trust the man. I would do anything that he asked me to,"
"It was so easy for me to just jump into where Jesse's at mentally, emotionally, because I lived and breathed everything he went through and then some, and so, honestly, it felt like a part of me had gone through that as well. All I had to do was just memorise these words and then play them out when they yelled 'action'."
So other than Jesse, Skinny Pete and Badger are slated for a return in the movie, and it's probably a safe bet that Saul Goodman will feature.
Who else though? There's rumours of Skyler White, Marie Schrader and a number of others returning... guess we'll just have to wait and see though! Bring on October 11th.
