Ever since a fourth Matrix film was announced earlier this year we've been absolutely frothing for some more sci-fi goodness, and now we've been treated to some more good news.
The film's release date has just been released, slated for May 21 in 2021. While that's still aaaages away, you can still get excited - especially if you're a Keanu Reeves fan - because the release date falls on the same weekend as John Wick 4.
Both Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss have signed on to reprise their respective roles as Neo and Trinity, with Mindhunter's Jonathan Groff, How I Met Your Mother's Neil Patrick Harris and Aquaman's Yahya Abdul Mateen II set to join the cast as well.
Abdul-Mateen recently told EW "It's a very exciting, relevant script that I'm honoured to be a part of."
This will be the first instalment in the Matrix franchise for 18 years, after the release of The Matrix Revolutions in 2003.
Lana Wachowski returns to write, direct and produce the film.
