Ahhh, the internet.

As you could probably guess, there's a bunch of X-rated coronavirus-themed videos that have already surface online.

At the time of publishing, COVID-19 has killed more than 3200 people with more than 95,000 cases reported worldwide, with the total confirmed cases in New Zealand rising to three on Thursday morning.

The threat of the virus has forced cancellations in the dance music world, with the Abu Dhabi and Miami legs of Ultra Music Festival called off due to concerns.

However, the adult entertainment industry isn't wasting any time, with videos on Pornhub and xHamster already referencing 'COVID-19' and related terms in their titles.

Most have quickly racked up more than 10,000 views - although some appear to simply be using the search terms to attract clicks, with no actual reference to the coronavirus outbreak.

But some videos explicitly use imagery associated with the outbreak, including one with 'deserted Wuhan' in its title and another where two people have sex while wearing facemasks.

Vice spoke to one of the performers in the video, who said it was made "to help inform viewers about proper mask usage and how the virus spreads".

"There are a lot of people with a mask kink, but I don't think that is directly related to this COVID-19 trend. I think it's attractive to people because it can help lighten the mood on a serious subject," they said.

Reaction online has been mixed, with some outraged commenters condemning coronavirus-themed porn while others crack jokes.

"Whoever came up with this shit needs to crawl back into their little hole and stay there until that person rots," tweeted one person.

"Whhaaaaa. I can't. But like, is it good content?" asked another.

The official Pornhub account responded to a tweet about the coronavirus-themed videos on its site with one emoji: the facemask one.
