UK fish 'n' chip shop Binley Mega Chippy has queues like a festie after going viral on TikTok

Get us round to Binley!!!

TikTok has become absolutely obsessed with Binley Mega Chippy - a humble fish and chip shop located in Binley, UK.

It all seemed to start with a jingle - ’Binley Mega Chippy’ being the only lyrics, sung to the tune of ‘For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow’ - accompanied by a picture of the takeaway spot.

Now, the quaint cafe sees longer lines than some festivals, all thanks to TikTok.

Loads of videos of people visiting Binley Mega Chippy have gone viral, and most incorporate the increasingly iconic jingle.

There has even been a DNB remix of the Mega Chippy’s theme song with over 1 million likes - confused? Us too.

The store must be making tons and tons of cold hard cash from the newfound fame. People are even reportedly flying from all over the world to taste some of the Binley Mega Chippy goodness.

Vice briefly interviewed the owner, Kamal Ghandi, who seems pretty dumbfounded by all the new customers, and honestly seems like a super humble guy that couldn’t give two shits about the virality of his shop.

He also takes no credit for the now globally recognised name of the place, saying he just bought it from the previous owner who named it ‘Binley Mega Chippy’.

The community and just all-around vibes of Binley also seem to be benefiting from TikTok falling in love with the place.

There's a huge number of posts showing everyone just having a sick time in the carpark, enjoying some classic fish and chips.

Who knows what it is that makes the internet grab hold and milk everything it can out of the most mundane people and places?

It doesn’t really matter, it’s kind of beautiful that such a small shop can be known around the world, even if we’ll all think it’s cringe by the end of the week.
