Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Councillor, Josephine Bartley reckons vaccination buses should be set up at KFC so people can get vaccinated while waiting in long lines for their wicked wings.
"People are going to be waiting in line for ages anyway, they might as well get a vaccination while they're there."
After five long weeks Aucklanders will be moving to alert level 3 at 11.59PM tonight and Josephine has reached out to KFC to see if they'd be on board with her idea. In an email she wrote to the company she said,
"I'm more than aware that KFC has a massive customer base in Auckland and notably in areas that are a focus for raising Covid vaccination rates such as Māngere, Ōtara, Manurewa, Papatoetoe."
"I note there are KFC outlets in all these suburbs and each also has large carparks,"
Takeaways have been known to have ridiculously long lines in lockdown, so maybe this is a finger-licking good idea? Josephine Bartley went on to comment,
"Why would KFC not take this opportunity to do good in the community because they are well patronised by the local communities."
Good on Josephine for her outside the box thinking!
