Starbucks announce they will be flippin' the bird to plastic straws and becoming free of them by 2020

With the impending plastic crisis our world is facing, many large companies are taking a stand, coming up with ways they can do their own bit for the environment to hault or at least reduce the insane amount of plastic waste we are producing.

Starbucks have just announced that they will now be phasing out plastic straws, with the hope of being completely plastic straw free by 2020.

By them removing plastic straws from their stores worldwide, they will be "reducing more than 1 billion plastic straws per year."

To accomplish this, they will be releasing new sippy lids for their beverages, and if straws are needed, they will use either paper straws or a bio-degradable plastic alternative.
