Ever get really sad to leave your wee pupper home alone while you head off to work? Well, now you may not have to.
It's called paw-ternity leave, and it's something one large New Zealand company wants to introduce so that you can take a day off if your pet is a little worse for wear.
Over in Britain, almost 1 in 20 pet owners have been offered this kind of leave by their employers, allowing them to spend some time either settling in new household animals, or just looking after existing pets while they're sick.
The NZ company allowing such a beautiful thing is ANZ. They've cited that "early days of a kitten or puppy's life are vital to the pet's early development", and that they are wanting to embrace a culture that is passionate about pets.
An ANZ spokesperson, Sonia Bell stated,
For our employees, flexibility is about supporting our people in delivering results in the most productive way possible, while balancing these commitments with personal priorities.
*Paw-riorities, if you will.
