8 things to do in Auckland this Anniversary weekend!

What's better than the weekend?...a bloody three day weekend that's for sure!

If you're one of those people not heading out of Auckland for the long weekend and are stuck for ideas on what to do this weekend, then don't you worry as we've pulled together a list of things to get yourself amongst.

1. Sounds of Summer, Aotea Square (All weekend)

Are you looking for free event that brings chilled out vibes? Then get yourself down to Aotea Square for Sounds of Summer featuring DJs and artists belting out a variety of music including jazz, electronic and afro beats.

2. Vector Lights, Harbour Bridge (All weekend)

Vector are putting on an epic light show display at Auckland's iconic landmark, the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

The show can be enjoyed at different vantage points around the harbour and will run every 15mins between 9pm-midnight on Friday 25th January through to Monday 28th January.

3. Brazilian Day Festival, Rocket Park (Saturday 26th Jan)

Get yourself amongst the Brazilian culture at the Brazilian Day Festival at Mt Albert's Rocket Park.

There will be live music, food + a bunch of samba & capoeira workshops.

4. George Summer Tour, Regatta Bar & Eatery (Sunday 27th Jan)

Join us for our final party as we end our Summer Tour in style at the Regatta Bar & Eatery.

Come listen to some sweet sounds from George favourites, Dan Aux, General Lee, Kara Rickard, Benny Boy, Hamis & Rangi, Sin Howard and more! 

This is an 18+ event that kicks off from 2pm. Tickets are selling fast so get in quick as this is one you don't want to miss out on.

5. Ice Cream Sundae, Silo Park (Sunday 27th Jan)

The Silo season is upon us, packed full of food & culture events to keep us entertained each weekend.

This Sunday, Silo Park will be bringing you Ice Cream Sundae where you'll be able to get an abundance of treats from midday to 5pm. 

This whanau friendly event also includes hot food trucks, DJs and Ice Cream inspired drinks from the pop up Silo bar.

6. Sonorous, Matakana Country Park & then the Sonorous Afterparty, Neck of the Woods (Sunday 27th Jan)

If you're keen to party until from sun until dusk, then the Sonorous Festival & then the Sonorous Afterparty is where it's at.

Kicking off at Matakana Country Park you'll find the biggest names in underground music and then if you're that way inclined, the party continues at Neck of the Woods from 10pm and will feature special guest from the Sonorous Festival itself.

7. Laneway Festival, Albert Park (Monday 28th Jan)

It's known as the staple go to on Auckland Anniversary, Laneway Festival will feature a range of NZ and International artists.

With four stages, there's definitely something for everyone.

Gates open at 11:30am.

8. Mission Bay Art & Craft Market, Mission Bay (Monday 28th Jan)

The Mission Bay Art & Craft Market is known as one of Auckland's largest arts & crafts markets. 

Taking place at Selwyn Reserve the market will include more than 200 stalls filled with a variety of arts, crafts and more. There will also be plenty of food & drink stalls to keep you full & hydrated.
