9 events in Auckland you have to get amongst this October

As the months start to warm up, the city gets busier and busier, with a bunch of wee events poppin' off! 

We've decided to compile a cheeky list of all the places/events worth hitting up this October in Auckland city, and there's a little something for everyone.

1. Street Kai Takutai - 4th October 

Street Kai Takutai is hitting Britomart for a huge complination of some of the city's best food trucks, all in one central hub.

The event kicks off at 11am running right till 9pm, plenty of time to pass through for some of the best food truck cuisine! The lineup includes  The Rolling PinDouble Dutch FriesPeach’s Hot ChickenWise Boys Burgers and heaps more! For all the deets, head here.

2. Rickard & Friends - 5th October

Rickard & Friends is a groovy little gig hitting Lula Inn this Friday with an all female lineup, headlined by our very own Kara Rickard for her first DJing gig in 5 years!

Tickets are only $10 for the night, and there's sets from Arii Jade, Sin, Teto, and Ro from 8PM. Get all the deets here.

3. Korean Food Night Market - 7th October

Glenfield is happy to present a Korean cuisine extravaganza from 5:30pm - 11pm this Sunday. With around 15 food and grocery stalls, the market will provide all sorts of Korean favourites such us Bulgogi, Korean spicy chicken, Korean sausage(Sundae), Fritters(Zizimi) and heaps more.

4. SWIDT - 12th October

In their first headlined tour, SWIDT are hitting up Studio The Venue  with Melodownz and illbaz for a massive night of local hip-hop in Auckland city.

Tickets are only $36, and absolute bargain for that hefty Kiwi lineup.

5. Eskimo Dance - 16th October

If you're obsessed with UK Grime, you're gonna be ALL about this exclusive concert lineup coming to NZ straight from teh UK, curated by none other than Wiley hitting Logan Campbell Centre mid-October.

With performances from Wiley, Big Shaq, Lethal Bizzle, P Money (UK), and more, it's a night full of bad man tingssssss, ready to go down. For tickets and all infor, head here.

6. Kygo - 17th October

Norwegian house music prodigy and arguably one of the most hyped artists on the planet today, KYGO, has today announced a massive show at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Wednesday October 17, as part of his Kids In Love Tour.

7. 6LACK - 18th October

Following the release of his brand new album, 6LACK is heading back down under for a highly anticipated tour. The Powerstation is hosting him alongside special guests THEY and BOOGIE.

8. Diwali Festival - 20th October

Every year, Aotea Square hosts the most insane festival filled with food, entertainment, and music to celebrate Indian culture.

"This festival celebrates traditional and contemporary Indian culture in its many forms as well as being New Zealand’s largest vegetarian festival, with a vast range of Indian foods and sweets."

9. Mexfestival - 27th October

The biggest Mexican festival in NZ is hitting ASB Showgrounds for a fiesta and a half at the end of month.

Along with food, competitions, entertainment and endless amounts of mariachi madness, the Mexican explosion has a lil something for everyone. With early day festivities for the family, then a more adult vibe later on in the day.
