A Reddit user has leaked alleged details on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto 6 and it sounds unreal.

Reddit user JackOLantern1982 claims to have close friends that have worked for reputable gaming websites as well as a friend that works for Grand Theft Auto distributor Rockstar Games.

They revealed some crucial details pertaining to the narrative for the upcoming game.

According to JackOLantern1982, the working title for the game is Project Americas, and it has been in development since before the latest instalment, GTA V, was launched.

The game will apparently be set in Vice City and a fictional city based on Brazil's Rio De Janeiro.

As for timing, the game will also be set in the 1970s and 1980s and will be strongly influenced by the events of Netflix series Narcos - which detailed the rise and fall of Colombian cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar.

We'll find out soon enough whether any of these details are legit - but for now take the list with a few massive grains of salt, especially since Rockstar are yet to officially announce the game is even coming at all.

Grand Theft Auto V launched in 2013 and GTA VI isn't expected until at least 2020 or 2021, where it will reportedly be released for the next generation of consoles.
