According to a Wall Street Journal report, parents have started paying for lessons for their kids in Fortnite. Yes, Fortnite.
One mum spoke to WSJ saying,
There’s pressure not to just play it but to be really good at it. You can imagine what that was like for him at school.
The reasons for this? Some parents justify it because they just want their child to fit in, others are wanting to prep them for more competitive use like esport competitions and other professional gaming aspirations.
Gaming is becoming quite the lucrative sport, with talks of it even being included in the Olympics one day, so many parents are jumping a the opportunity to give their kid the extra edge.
