You're invited to the Gorillaz mixed reality house party
In the run up to the release of the Gorillaz highly anticipated new album, HUMANZ, the group launches a mixed reality app, allowing fans a glimpse inside the weird and wonderful universe of The World’s Most Successful Virtual Band for the very first time. Pushing the boundaries of technology, the Gorillaz App will allow fans to immerse themselves in the world of the group and join Murdoc, 2D, Russel and Noodle at home in the Gorillaz House.
To celebrate the release of the new album, fans will be invited - via the app - to the ‘Humanz House Party’, an exclusive worldwide listening event which will allow fans to hear the new album in full for the first time. The ‘Humanz House Party’ will be the largest geo specific listening experience ever, bringing people together across 500 locations around the world, including New Zealand.
Developed by Gorillaz and B-Reel with support from Deutsche Telekom, the fully immersive mixed-reality app is a unique blend of real world, AR, VR and 360 environments, using the technology in a narrative context for the very first time.
Gorillaz’ new album HUMANZ comes seven years on from the release of THE FALL and PLASTIC BEACH. Murdoc Niccals (bass), Noodle (guitar), Russel Hobbs (drums) and 2D (vocals) are – as always – joined by a stellar line up of featured artists which includes Danny Brown, De La Soul, D.R.A.M., Anthony Hamilton, Grace Jones, Kelela, Mavis Staples, Vince Staples, Popcaan, and Pusha T, among others.
Gorillaz will headline the recently announced, sold-out, Demon Dayz Festival in the UK. Full details of further dates that are scheduled for later in the year, will be announced soon.
