Today, NZ bass legend, Optimus Gryme has announced a final tour: 'The Death of Optimus Gryme.' This will take place in August/September this year, before Gryme hangs up his headphones for good.

After 12 years as Optimus, his talents as a drum & bass and dupstep producer are world renowned. Optimus AGryme has had a major hand at shaping the thriving NZ's bass culture we know and love today.

In the video above Charlie B (AKA Optimus) opens up about the difficulties of having children while your career is soaring, figuring out what really matters in life and his passion for his fans and his music.

Plus there's a crack up power cut right in the middle.

"Sorry about that, good ol' Waiheke power."

Optimus' going about ticket sales in a fairly unconventional fashion, asking fans to buy $20.00 tickets for one of seventeen different shows in different places across New Zealand and Australia - with unconfirmed dates/venues.

These tickets will be on sale for the next two weeks, you can nab yours here. However, if enough tickets don't sell for the location, he'll offer you a refund.

It's kinda like he's making sure the numbers are there before he books in any venues/secures date.

"So, share this video and tag a friend who you've rocked the dfloor with at one of my gigs. I'd love to see all you familiar faces for one final tour."
