Avicii's father continues to generate conversation around mental health following the death of his son in hopes of creating change.
American broadcast network CBS is running a special on mental health titled “Stop the Stigma: A Conversation About Mental Health” where Avicii’s father, Klas Bergling, discusses his son’s struggles with anxiety.
Bergling addresses those who might be dealing with mental illness themselves. “You have to talk about it," he says. "And you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for help.”
He explains the purpose of the Tim Bergling Foundation, established in Avicii's memory. “Trying to get the stigma away from talking about mental illness and suicide," he says. "We hope we can be a voice through Tim. Because Tim has so many millions of fans.”
