A-Trak has shared the story of why his official remix for the King of Pop will 'never come out'.
Posting on twitter, A-Trak wrote "Back in 2012, I got asked to do a Michael Jackson remix for the 25th anniversary of Bad".
He then teamed up with Oliver for an official remix of Smooth Criminal however the pair said that Jackson's team at Sony were super protective of his music and the stems saying "they would only send a hard drive to a studio WITH A SONY PERSON who stayed there and watched the drive."
After submitting their final mix, the whole song was unfortunately scrapped due to what they suspect was a creative difference between Jackson's estate and Sony.
The craziest part about listening to MJ stems was all the ambient/background sounds in the vocal track," A-Trak wrote.
"You could hear him tapping his feet while he sang, the way his whole body moved was so rhythmic."
The good news is A-Trak shared a snippet of the song on his Instagram Story which you can check out here.
