Aussie catholic school steamrolled by the internet over cocked-up statue
A Catholic school in Adelaide has been forced to cover up a newly unveiled statue of old mate St Martin de Porres handing a bread roll to a young male student...
Well the bread roll looks a hell of a lot like a girthy cock, as the internet was quick to point out.
Particularly awkward, considering Catholics unfortunate history with priests abusing young boys...
A picture of the statue made for Blackfriors Priory School, was posted to an Instagram account called "Shit Adelaide", quickly racking up the likes and disbeliefing comments, before hitting their news.
Comments were largely variations of “How the fuck did that statue get made without anyone pointing out the obvious dirty nature of that breadstick”
Blackfriars Priory School's Principal, Simon Cobiac, released a statement on the school's Facebook page explaining the situation.
"The two-dimensional concept plans for the statue were viewed and approved by the Executive Team in May but upon arrival the three-dimensional statue was deemed by the Executive to be potentially suggestive," he said.
And now old Saint Cockstick has been memed. Enjoy.
