Our long-time George Breakfast host Kara Rickard has this morning announced she will be leaving the breakfast show at the end of this year.
Kara says: “This year I celebrated 10 years at George FM, and what an epic 10 years it's been. I truly believe that George is the best station in the world with the best team and the best listeners but I've decided that it's time for a change and this year will be my last.
“George has been my home away from home since forever so I'm definitely feeling all the feels about leaving but I'm excited about the new TV and broadcasting opportunities in front of me next year. Thank you for listening and sharing your stories with me over the last 10 years. I love and appreciate you more than you know.”
From her early days as a newsreader to stepping up to host George Drive and then George Breakfast for many years, Kara is a George legend who will be missed!
And don't worry - in 2021, General Lee and Tammy will keep the bangers and bants cranking on George Breakfast!
