Dan Aux's list of Northern Bass must sees - part 2

18/09/2018
Dan Aux has come through with a refreshed list of his Northern Bass must sees for this year's stellar wee lineup.

  •  Chase & Status Retreat 2018 ft Cutty Ranks / Heater ft General Levy

I was over the moon when Chase & Status dropped two brand new tunes on us a few weeks ago and also announced new album RTRNIIJUNGLE. A massive return to form as I have not been a huge fan of some of the musical diversions they have taken over last couple of years but they have always been a class act when performing live. The hype is real!

  • The Upbeats & Noisia - 'Long Shadows' ft Goth-Trad & DJ Kentaro

The second track to drop from their upcoming EP. Featuring Tokyo's dubstep producer Goth-Trad and former world DMC champ Kentaro. With help from Creative New Zealand and a Kickstarter campaign, they went to Japan and Iceland to write the first EP of the ‘No Sleep ’Til’ series. There are 7 songs on the EP, featuring collaborations with Noisia, Culture Shock,Halogenix, DJ Kentaro, Goth Trad, and Emperor.

  • State Of Mind - Land Of The Blind Part II

Continuing their fascination with reptilians, this Friday State Of Mind drop part 2 of the album Land Of The Blind. Here's a sneak peak to the lead track. Also listen out to George FM Drive as the deeper more jungle inspired track "Preset 42" features as this weeks biggest drum & bass tune.

  • Danny Byrd - Atomic Funk

Hospital Records drops another killer album from drum & bass pioneer Danny Byrd. His first album in 5 years. Atomic Funk is A 15-track funk-fuelled compendium of rolling dancefloor-fillers that tributes to the jungle foundation moulding his early beginings.

One of the stand out tracks for kiwi fans is "Money Calling Me" featuring Auckland's Times x Two who bring the summer vibes.

  • Pendulum - The Reworks

Iconic Aussie / UK Drum & Bass act are back in action, wowing crowds in earlier this year in Ohakune Mardi Gras (which included a sneaky Knife Party cameo at the George FM Winter Warm Up) Here they deliver 13 of their biggest hits remixed by some of the bass scene's brightest stars. The Reworks comes on the heels of a complete catalog reissue of Pendulum's work in a box set.
