One of New Zealand's favourite news presenters has decided to resign from TV3 after 23 years.
Hilary Barry, often called the 'mother of the nation', has decided to step down from her roles at Newshub Live at 6pm, and presenter at Paul Henry. She will be leaving in a month's time, after which she will be spending some well-deserved time with her family.
MediaWorks CEO Mark Weldon called Hilary "one of New Zealand’s most loved media personalities and respected journalists." On behalf of MediaWorks, I want to thank and pay tribute to Hilary. She is a brilliant broadcaster, highly respected journalist and much-loved personality, who will be missed by myself, colleagues and audiences.
She started with TV3 as a news reporter in Christchurch in 1993 and has become one of New Zealand’s favourite personalities on television and radio. We'll miss you Hilary!
