Legendary Prodigy vocalist Keith Flint has passed away at home aged 49.
The Prodigy released a statement this morning confirming the news.
“It is with deepest shock and sadness that we can confirm the death of our brother and best friend Keith Flint,” the statement reads.
“A true pioneer, innovator and legend. He will be forever missed. We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time.”
Tributes to the influential frontman have since flowed in from artists worldwide.
The Prodigy are credited with bringing rave music to the masses, with seven number one albums since their formation in 1990 and plenty of memorable tracks including “Firestarter” and “Breathe” in their catalog.
The band recently visited New Zealand for the first time since 2010, playing a show at Auckland’s Trusts Arena on February 5.
