Hours out on the water trying to get a few fish in the chilly bin and this shark just decides to jump on for the ride.
We spoke with Ryan Churches who was out off the coast of Whitianga when a mako shark made a grand entrance onto the front of his boat.
Running Churchys Charter, Ryan had put out some bait when the shark started jumping around.
"The make shark took the bait and went absolute ballistic" Ryan said.
"After a few jumps, he ended up on the front of the boat."
The video was posted to social media, viewers commenting how insane the moment looked.
The shark was caught on the anchor but managed to slip out under the rail as Ryan dropped the anchor down.
