In honor of today being International Women’s Day, up-and-coming Kiwi DJ Elipsa has released a music video for her tune ‘Divine’, which features an NZ legend, Tali.
The music video is choc-a-bloc with some of the best female talent Aotearoa has and was made with a (basically) all-women crew.
Starring in the music video are the following Kiwi artists: Elipsa, Tali Coco, Kenzlee Sotogi, Rachel Leo, Sammy W, Bandi, HeyLady, Huia, Jess Rhodes, Sammie, Rana, Georgia Davies, Grommie, VIKAE, Pixie Lane, Ponz, Gabriella Gonzalez, and Cee Blu, with Gal Hochman directing.
“With an all-female crew (bar 2 male grips) and some special appearances from some very talented wāhine, it was an incredible day filled with so much light and divinity,” Elipsa wrote in an Instagram post announcing the music video a week ago.
“We are so excited to show you our vision and celebrate the power of feminine energy. A massive thanks to all those involved.”
Tali shared similar sentiments in a post she made to announce the music video officially being out.
“We're so proud to present to you all the music video 'DIVINE' featuring some of NZs brightest and best Female talent in Electronic music,” she wrote. “A massive thank you to Gal Hochman and all our amazing crew for helping make our dream a reality.”
“And to all beautiful wāhine who feature (and those who couldn't but still sent messages of love and support) for gracing us with your divine Feminine energy and constantly elevating our music industry with your talent and tenacity,” she finished.
Big shoutouts to everyone involved in this massive project. Getting all that Kiwi musical talent in one room is something to celebrate for sure.
