Your iphone battery is probably getting sucked dry by a 'vampire setting' - but here's the fix

Don't let your phone cark it mid festie this year.

Turns out your phone's draining battery is actually due to one setting we all never knew to change.

The ‘vampire setting’, as it’s known, is infamous for draining your phone quicker than a chat with the boss at 4pm on a Friday.

Every festie veteran knows to pack portable chargers to keep in comms, but they also know the dread of a dead phone right when you're trying to wrangle the crew to get front-left.

Here's how to suss these sus settings so they don't threaten to derail your debauchery:

It's really just got to do with 'Wi-Fi Assist.' This bad boy lets you jump onto mobile data when the network's dragging its feet - AKA at R&V with the other 30,000 people trying to find their mates after a toilet run.

Sure, it helps you connect your Spotify to the speaker for the 5am kick-on playlist no one asked for or needed, but it’s also a silent battery assassin and is automatically switched on for all iPhones.

To turn it off quicker than the ladies after your so-called rizz up, head to your settings.

Hit up 'Mobile Data,' and scroll way down. You'll find 'Wi-Fi Assist' chilling above 'iCloud Drive.'

Tap it off (it should look grey) and BOOM!

You can also preserve that sweet battery life by adjusting your screen brightness.

I know you want to request for the DJ to play Dane Rumble’s ‘Cruel’ like Bax from the office, but everyone is safer if you just turn that shit down.

Flick on 'Auto-Brightness' in 'Accessibility' under 'General' in 'Settings.'

Better living everybody, and we’ll catch you front-left for a boogie.
