Daft Punk's surprise collab with this Aussie band will make you want to cut shapes on a 70's disco dfloor
The little-known, five-piece, disco pop band, Parcels just teamed up with the Universe's fave robots to make a tune fit for a night fever groove at Stu's Disco.
Parcels talked to NME about working in the studio with probably the biggest act in dance music in the world.
“Very inspiring. Most surprising was the nature of the collaboration. Despite the obvious status that Daft Punk carry there was never any ego in the studio. From the start to the finish it was an equal collaboration with no pressure, only a desire to create something meaningful together. That gave us a lot of confidence in ourselves, as well as respect for those two.”
With Daft Punk's recent collaborative efforts featuring the likes of Kanye West, Pharrell and the Weeknd, it's a little unexpected for the duo to team up with up-and-comers, but Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel Homem Christo encountered the Australian-born, Berlin-based Parcels in a Paris club last year and loved their vibe.
And we do too. If you liked 'Get Lucky', you'll probably be into this.
