An unforgettable rave is about to go down, deep into the forest about 50km away from the hub of Berlin.
A German festival, 5001, is set to be held in the underground Honecker nuclear bunker, which was built by Soviets during the cold war.
Declared a historical monument in 2003, the secretive bunker was utilized as the main headquarters for East Germany’s National Defense Council prior to the fall of the Berlin Wall.
With the ability to withstand chemical, biological and nuclear attacks, the underground facility was formerly kitted out with decontamination chambers, a control center and a self-sufficient power supply.
5001 festival will offer rave and cultural labyrinths inside these walls.
5001 will take place from 17th to 19th August, and line up duties include the likes of Antigone, Shlømo, Rachel Lin, François X.
