FISHER's bushfire appeal gig raises over $100K

Aussie DJ/producer FISHER is the latest to join the fight against the fires currently ravaging Australia, reportedly raising over $100,000 via his upcoming Dance For Disaster Bushfire Appeal event in Sydney.

FISHER announced the event on January 7th and added that all proceeds from both tickets and bar sales will be donated to NSW Rural Fire Service, Australian Red Cross and similar organisations.

The event sold out the next day and will take place on Sunday.

FISHER joins fellow Australian dance musicians Flume and Alison Wonderland and Peking Duk in donating to the cause, with Flume already announcing he will be donating $100,000 to WIRES Wildlife Rescue to help injured, displaced wildlife while Alison Wonderland announced 100% of profits from her store in January will go towards helping the New South Wales and Victoria rural fire services. Peking Duk also raised $50,000 which will be split evenly amongst several services and charities.
