NZ's 'First Man' Clarke Gayford is playing a festival next year

Clarke Gayford is getting back behind the deck.

New Zealand's first man - and former George Breakfast host - Clarke Gayford is set to get behind the decks at Splore Festival next year after being included on their second line-up announce.

Gayford, the partner of Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, joins the likes of Shapeshifter, Imugi, CHAII, King Kapisi, the Katayanagi Twins and Hollie Smith on the bill.

“After the year we’ve just had, who doesn’t want to escape a bit of the madness?" Gayford told Newshub.

"I couldn’t think of a better place in the world to be, than at the magic that is Splore.”

The announcement last week also teased a special female guest that will feature during Shapeshifter's set - with a few speculating that guest could be Ardern given her experience playing Auckland's Laneway festival in 2014, although this was later confirmed to Newshub that she would not be appearing.
