Aussie DJ What So Not told us the tale of his 'lucky' escape from Burning Man's mud lockdown

"You got to get out of here".

“Burning Man turned to soggy man, turned to muddy man,” Aussie DJ What So Not’s analysis of the festival is pretty bang on, but it gets even more nuts.

If you don't know, the festival in Black Rock, Nevada went into lockdown after heavy rain caused the grounds to turn into thick mud, leading organisers to shut down the only road in and out

Rumours of an Ebola outbreak also spread quickly, and many people boosted it, including celebs like Diplo, Chris Rock, and What So Not. The UK DJ had a chat with George Breakfast about the whole ordeal.

“We were so lucky,” he said. “The person I was with had a show in Los Angeles on Saturday, so we had to leave on Friday.”

“The camp owner came over and he’s like: ‘You got to get out of here in about ten minutes or you’re going to be stuck until Tuesday. They’re going to shut down all the roads. The flooding is about to set in’.”

He and his squad hustled packing all their shit into the car, which they had rented for the festie. Naturally, driving through all the mud meant upon returning it they were slapped with a $750 fine.

It wasn’t all panicked evacuations though, the bloke added that the desert was a great time,  describing a scene out of a rave-themed Mad Max movie.

“It’s really freeform. You walk or ride around on your bike and you ride up to a cart. They’re playing cool stuff. Then you yell at the driver: ‘Can we DJ!?’. You ride alongside it and jump on while it’s moving.”

“I had this one morning, we hijacked pinto this cart and I get up there and it’s Destructo and Justin Martin! It’s sunrise and we’re like ‘What?!’.”

Sounds nuts, a hunny p Burning Man is officially on the bucket list. He shared some footage in the Instagram post above and I recommend checking it out, that's a dust bowl baby.
