Aotearoa has recently seen an influx of bilingual music lately and it has been so sick seeing so many waiata reo māori in the Official New Zealand Music Charts.
Not only has our homegrown talent been embraced here in NZ, but interest in waiata reo māori has also blown up worldwide.
Ka Hao and Rob Ruha’s waiata ‘35’ exploded on Tiktok and its music video now has over 3 million views on Youtube.
Waiata Reo Māori Live has invited their top songwriters to perform at their showcase concert in Tāmaki Makaurau, featuring Louis Baker, Rei, Kings and heaps more.
The live-stream will be available on Youtube via the supporting oganisation’s youtube channels: Te Māngai Pāho, NZ On Air, APRA AMCOS NZ, and NZ Music Commission.
