Terminally-ill man arrested for mooning a speed camera to tick off his bucket list

"my wife suggested drawing up a bucket list and that was one of the items on there that I've now crossed off at some price." He said

A terminally ill man was arrested after flashing his rear end to a speed camera, which he says was something that was on his bucket-list.

After discovering last month that he had multiple system atrophy, a terminal condition affecting the nervous system, Darrell Meekcom, 55, made a list of things he wanted to do before he died.

When he showed his rear end to a van in Kidderminster, Worcestershire, the retired university lecturer and former nurse ticked off mooning a speed camera.

The police officer, on the other hand, wasn’t having a bar of it and reported the stunt as 'indecent exposure.'

Three police cars pulled up outside Meekcom's house 20 minutes later, and when he refused to let them in, they kicked down the garden gate and wrestled him to the ground, cuffing him.

"I'm terminally ill, I won't be able to breathe like this," Meekcom can be heard telling cops in phone footage taken by his wife Sarah.

A female officer then replies: "Well that is a significant statement that you have just made to us."

Meekcom tried to explain that mooning a speed camera was on his bucket list, but he was eventually arrested and taken into custody.

He has since been released under investigation on suspicion of indecent exposure and dangerous driving.

Meekcom, who has Parkinson's Disease and heart and kidney problems, said he felt 'gobsmacked' that he was arrested for what he did.

"When I was given the diagnosis last month my wife suggested drawing up a bucket list and that was one of the items on there that I've now crossed off at some price." He said.

Moral of the story is maybe make a bucket list that doesn’t bare your ass to the people who can arrest you…

We do hope that Darrell is back to ticking off that bucket list though.
