James Buckley from Inbetweeners breaks Cameo record for ridiculous amount of cash he's earned

Cameo? Completed it mate.

James Buckley, who played the unreal character Jay Cartwright on the beloved TV show ‘The Inbetweeners’, has made history. He's become the first ever person to make a million dollars (pounds) just from Cameo.

If you don’t know what Cameo is, it’s a website/app where people can pay celebrities a fee for a quick customised video, genius really.

Judging off how beloved Jay is by fans of the show mainly for his one-liners and just wildly out-of-line calls, it’s no surprise he’s as popular as he is on the app.

The co-founder of Cameo, Martin Blencowe, talked to LadBible about why Buckley is so successful on the app - mostly because he’s affordable, enthusiastic, and because he completed Football Manager.

“James was incredibly popular from the start, but he’s stayed committed to his fans, always keeping an accessible price (even during his busiest periods) and giving his all to make each Cameo special,” he told LadBible.

You can visit James’ Cameo profile here, and have a look at a few of the Cameos he’s done in the past. It costs NZ$11 for a message from him, and $80 if you want a personalised video.

His biography on Cameo reads:

“I’ll wish a friend happy birthday, maybe you want me to propose to your significant other ‘Jay style’ or perhaps you just want me to call someone buswanker?” - a true poet.

If you’re wondering what James is doing now (apart from Cameo of course) he’s actually a vlogger on Youtube, a family vlogger! He’s a father of two sons, Harrison (10) and Jude (8) and he’s been married to his wife Clair for ten years.

They started their YouTube channel ‘At Home With The Buckleys’ in November 2020 and have gained nearly 150,000 subscribers and eleven million views. Go on son!
