It’s been five long years since Nelly Furtado performed a set of her iconic tunes and luckily for a massive Victoria crowd that drought is officially over.
Punters at New Years' Festival Beyond The Valley kicked off the year with the return of the singer - where she was joined by Aussie house heavyweight Dom Dolla for a pre-midnight set.
To close out 2022, the Furtado took the stage for a 35-minute performance with a stacked setlist that included staple hits like ‘I’m Like a Bird’, ‘Maneater’ and ‘Promiscuous’ - but the highlight was a magical rendition of ‘Say It Right’ perfectly blended with iconic dance track 'Glue' from electronic duo Bicep.
The singer also performed for a mash up of Dom Dolla's 'Take It' with her Timbaland collaboration ‘Give It To Me’.
“Like many of my friends, I grew up listening to @nellyfurtado,” he wrote on Instagram gushing over the epic opportunity.
“Her music was the soundtrack to some of my earliest memories. It was a surreal experience to invite her out on stage with me last night to perform one of my favourite records. It’s been an honour getting to know you over the past few months Nelly. Very excited for what the future has in store.”
Nelly's return has just begun and we are totally buzzed for what is to come in 2023. For now, we'll just have to keep bumping to Dom Dolla's rework on repeat.
