George Sunday DJ duo Bavhu feature on legendary Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 Dance show

Huuuuuuuge!

George resident DJ duo Bavhu’s 2023 just keeps on getting better.

The pair, who hold it down every Sunday on George from 12 - 2pm, got some playtime on one of the biggest dance radio shows in the world.

Pete Tong, who General Lee calls ”one of the biggest and most respected DJs in the whole wide world”, played Bavhu’s upcoming tune on his BBC Radio 1 Dance show.

“We’ll kick things off with an apt title for this show, with ‘Always Dancin’’, this is Bavhu,” Tong said. The boys are bloody cracking it.

Obviously stoked, Cam and Kahu took to Instagram to share the huge news.

“Wowwwwieee we just woke up to news that the one and only @petetongofficial played our forthcoming debut track “Always Dancin” on his @bbcsounds show,” they wrote in the caption. “🤯🤯🤯 What da actual heckkkk 😭💪🏽”

General Lee reckons it’s a great reason for every EDM lover in Aotearoa to celebrate.

“When these big changemaker shows start playing local records it makes me smile,” he said on air this morning.

As mentioned before, 2023 has been gooood to the Bavhu boys. Earlier this year the fellas’ set at Hidden Valley’s New Year festival went up on Boiler Room. It is one groovy doozy so make sure to give it a watch if you haven’t already.

“Boiler Room and the acts that play on it have been an inspiration since day one,” they said. “When we got the call up to play we actually couldn’t believe our ears and it’s an absolute honour to represent NZ and George FM for our Boiler Room debut.”

“The vibe was next level - was awesome to heat up the floor from 50-odd peeps to 500+ and pass the reigns over to Sin. Big disco Brightside NRG!”

Here’s to many more celebrations in 2023 for Bavhu!
