Get amongst this fundraising gig for former George DJ Bodge to help him battle stomach cancer

He needs another $30,000 to afford potentially lifesaving treatment.

Former George FM DJ Duane Read, AKA Bodge, is facing a battle with stage four stomach cancer.

To help raise money for potentially lifesaving immunotherapy treatment, those close to Duane - who is a husband and father of two - have decided to throw a “party with a purpose”.

Midnight Snack - Beats For Bodge’ will take place tomorrow (Friday the 13th) at Ink Bar on K Road. All proceeds will go towards Duane’s Givealittle page, which shows the family is just $30,000 away from their goal of $126,000.

DJs Greg Churchill, Ange, Andy Vann Azza & Sweatpants will be behind the decks at the gig, as well as Ed of the Deep House Mantis who is “coming out of retirement for his first gig in six years”.

If you wanna get a good boogie on and help out someone in need, head to it (you can buy tickets online or just rock up and pay cash at the door). If you can’t make it but still wish to help, please donate to Duane’s Givealittle page

‘Midnight Snack’ was the name of Bodge & Azza’s Friday night show they started back in 2007.

"It was an exciting time for them both,” the event page states. “Both being passionate music heads getting to play the house music they love on the radio.”

“Over the 3 or so years the show ran, there were a lot of great tunes, numerous guests, and drunken late-night shenanigans. Good times.”

Everyone in attendance tomorrow night will be looking to recreate those vibes and help out their good mate and legend.

Bodge recently completed his third run of chemotherapy and is proving to be an absolute solider during this whole process.

We wish all the best to Bodge and his family as he battles the bastard that is cancer.
