Fred Again Tour New Zealand: DJ greeted by fans at airport, confirms Wellington park show

We awn!

Fred Again has landed in New Zealand!

Photos have emerged of the British DJ in Wellington Airport taking some pics with Kiwi fans.

He also shared an IG story that seems to confirm he will be playing at Waitangi Park.

Just before news of his touchdown reached us here at George, Fred shouted out two Kiwi bands, The Clean and Fat Freddy's Drop by playing them in his Insta stories, building the hype like only Fred does. Ticketek has also added a Fred Again waiting list page, which fueled speculation before Fred confirmed it himself.

The Waitangi Park stage he's playing on is located near Te Papa in Wellington and was used for Homegrown.

On Monday, the gig was hinted at when Kiwi drug testing organisation Know Your Stuff NZ wrote in an IG post: “A little bird has told us there’s going to be a bit of a shindig happening at Waitangi Park this Friday evening” and it “promises to be big one.”

That post was deleted and reposted with a new caption that reads: “Hi Wellington friends! What are you doing on Friday after work?”.

Yesterday, Fred posted an IG story of a clip of Jonah Lomu and that sent us and every Kiwi fan into overdrive. Everyone called that it pretty much confirmed he's coming and everyone was right, good job team.

The 'Fred to NZ' hype train started when he posted an IG story of a scene from 'Lord of the Rings' just before announcing a same-day Sydney surprise gig before an Aussie-wide (apart from Perth) tour.

Then last week, a screenshot of his supposed tour schedule went viral, which saw him booked to play two shows at Auckland's Spark Arena next week. Auckland University also appeared to tease some sort of Fred Again announcement, but they were almost definitely just trolling us (cheers, guys).

Now, we are so fkn on.
